Seth’s Story
In 2016, Seth Permenter was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, bone cancer, in his left tibia. A re-diagnosis was given in 2019 in his lung and heart, followed by another in 2021. The Bulverde community came together to host the first mother-son kickball tournament to raise funds for the Permenter family’s medical journey.
Following the outpouring of love, the Permenter’s wanted to bless other families facing similar battles. They started the Seth Strong Foundation in Seth’s name to support other families also impacted by a life-threatening illness.
“Because everybody was there for me, I just feel like it’s the right thing. It’s the only thing for me to do in this situation — give back to the people who gave to me" - Seth Permenter
Finishing out his high school year was tough as he underwent treatment and setbacks. However, Seth has prevailed against cancer and is now on his way to achieving a lifelong goal - going to college.
Seth shared that his “whole family’s gone to Texas A&M and (he’s) always wanted to be an Aggie.” Seth started college in fall of 2025 and is proud to say that he now attends Texas A&M University. He is forever grateful for everyone’s continued support and is excited for the future of the foundation.
