“I wanted to report to you that our son, Greyson Straughn, has fully recovered from his injury from the mass found on his femur earlier this year. He was released from the wheelchair at the end of the summer and we continue to monitor the mass and the stability of the femur bone. We continue to pray that the mass will reduce in size and he will be able to avoid treatment and resume his active lifestyle.

This was the first year my oldest son (Utah, age 10) and I participated in the Seth Strong Kickball tournament and we had a blast. It’s not everyday us Moms get to play on the same team as our son’s and it was so much fun! When Greyson first injured his leg it was the day of the tournament and we had no idea that months later the same event would help us financially.

In the span of 4 ½ months, Greyson underwent 3 different MRIs, 1 biopsy, 1 spinal tap, 1 bone injection and a PET scan and countless doctor visits. It was by far the most challenging time we have ever experienced as a family – but through it all, we had the support of our friends & family to help get us through it.

My husband & I would like to Thank You and the Seth Strong foundation from the bottom of our hearts! I still remember the night I received the email from you. I was snuggling with Greyson as he slept, praying that God would give us the strength to fight this and ask him for guidance when my phone chimed with your email. Our story is filled with similar instances of those “why” questions and we prayed for guidance and when we receive an answer from a simple act of kindness, generosity from strangers or oncologists who turned out to be childhood friends – it all reminds us to keep the faith and stay on path.

Now that Greyson is healed (we have a follow up MRI in Dec) we are excited to say that he will be able to participate in the 2020 Seth Strong Kickball tournament! I wanted to offer our support for your foundation so If there is any opportunity for me & my family to help with the tournament or any event please let me know!
